Whats has more Caffeine in it Espresso Vs Filter ?
Steam Coffee and Cinnamon Mocha for Desert
Espresso Vs Filter Which has more Caffeine?
Lot of people has the assumption that espresso has the most amount of caffeine out there, so lets unpack this:
Espresso, with its concentrated brew and bold flavour, boasts a higher caffeine concentration per ounce. On the other hand, filter coffee, brewed through methods like French press or drip filter, often yields more caffeine per cup. How so? It's all about the quantity consumed; typically, you enjoy a larger serving of filter coffee compared to a standard espresso shot.
For instance, a double shot of espresso averages around 80mg of caffeine, while a 240ml (8oz) cup of filter coffee may contain approximately 125mg. However, these numbers are not set in stone. The caffeine content can vary significantly based on factors like the amount of ground coffee used and the brewing water volume.
So, while you may have heard numbers like '80mg' for espresso, the actual caffeine content could fluctuate, perhaps even reaching 100mg or dropping to 70mg depending on your brewing method.
While filter coffee has a smooth and weaker taste and lover acidity that's beloved by many, it's crucial to keep on eye on your caffeine intake. Despite its mild taste, filter coffee can pack a punch in terms of caffeine content, particularly if you drink a lot of it. So, if you're mindful of how much caffeine you're consuming, don't overlook the potential impact of having several cups of filter coffee throughout the day.
